Course Applications
AIPM courses are open to all members of Australasian public safety, emergency services, and other related agencies, following industry nomination. Nominations are made to the AIPM by each respective jurisdiction, using AIPM selection guidelines. The application and selection process for AIPM Courses is therefore administered by the Human Resources or Training Departments of the relevant jurisdiction or organisation.
Overseas participants are nominated by their respective governments. Liaison with overseas nominating authorities is usually conducted through the AFP Law Enforcement Cooperation Program (LECP).
If you are unsure of who to contact to lodge an application, please contact the AIPM Faculty Administration Manager (+61 2 9934 4846 or faculty@aipm.gov.au) who will be able to provide you with this information.
Multiple Entry Points
Students attending AIPM programs are encouraged to complete the Graduate Certificate (AIPM601), then gain additional management experience before enrolling in the Graduate Diploma (AIPM701). On average, students work for two to four years between programs. This ensures that students assimilate the knowledge and skills they have gained during the Graduate Certificate, broaden their understanding of policy challenges facing their organisations and have time to reflect on their own management and leadership practices before entering the Graduate Diploma.
The Graduate Diploma in Executive Leadership (AIPM 701) is structured in two parts, part one being the nested Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (AIPM 601). Standard course completion entails students first completing AIPM 601, consisting of four subjects.
A second entry point is available to selected students at the mid point of AIPM 701, providing students have previously satisfied the requirements of AIPM 601 or a recognised equivalent.
