Graduate Profile

The Institute's learning methodology is one of applying adult learning principles within non-judgemental, self-directed parameters. This focuses on participants' professional developmental needs and their capacity to add value to their organisation through an applied case study problem-solving approach. Within this learning environment, participants can retreat from their organisational responsibilities, undertake critical self-reflection and have the opportunity to analyse strategic issues in leadership and management, debate alternative solutions to issues and develop professional networks.

AIPM601 Student Profile

A graduate of AIPM 601 is generally at Inspector level, or equivalent (senior middle managers), in the early stages of an executive career. Most organisations view the Graduate Certificate course as an essential step in the academic and professional development of middle-ranking officers.

The AIPM Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (Policing and Emergency Services) is designed so that students will develop their strategic thinking, conceptual and analytical skills, and gain a sound knowledge of management, public policy and public administration. They will graduate with increased knowledge, skills and confidence, contributing to improved attitudes, ethical conduct and enhanced public service delivery.

AIPM701 Student Profile

Students of AIPM 701 are expected to reach executive levels in public sector management. The course attracts attendance by senior managers at Superintendent level or equivalent (upper executive level) throughout the Australian and international police and emergency services communities.
