Who is it for
Bridging the Gap is for emerging leaders who are ready to become fully effective members of their organisation’s executive team. It is designed for EL2/Superintendent to SES1/Commander level officers (sworn and unsworn).
While this program is delivered in English it is available to members of all international public safety agencies.
This program is designed to accelerate the transition process to executive level effectiveness.
Participants will develop a better understanding of how high-performance executive teams operate, examining the connections between actions, attitudes and values. This will lead to consideration of their own strategies for advancement, including shaping their personal narratives and improving their selection process skills.
The program is an opportunity to expand professional knowledge and explore the complex strategic challenges that public safety organisations face. It will challenge participants to examine the gap between their current approach to leadership and the leadership characteristics that are recognised as being effective at executive levels. Drawing on the contemporary experience and expertise of leading public safety executives, participants will use the AIPM’s diagnostic tools to collectively identify, examine and consider new experiments and approaches in building organisational performance.
Participants will be part of multi-agency learning groups, drawn from diverse organisations. This unique collaborative environment will help shift perspectives and can lead to innovative approaches to complex public safety issues.
