"Civility in the workplace is critical.

It creates healthier places to go to each day. You just feel better and even enjoy the experience.

Case in point is my current posting. From the Assistant Commissioner down, there is civility and she has set the standard for her team.

The standard of work is high, as is the pressure and demands at times, and a lot of it is crucial to supporting the frontline. But when you walk the floor, people are genuinely happy and enjoy the environment.

There is civility.

People appreciate each other’s efforts and show it as well.

So why is it like that?"
