SAHELI: Emerging Threats at the Intersection of Security and Health

SAHELI: Emerging Threats at the Intersection of Security and Health

Building on the success of the inaugural SAHELI held at the AIPM in 2017, we are pleased to announce that places are now open for the 2018 event. This year’s theme “Emerging Threats at the Intersection of Security and Health” will examine several key topic areas that provide challenges for senior leaders from across the security, health and civil society sectors including:

  • Pandemic Preparedness and Response

  • Illicit Drugs

  • Migration

  • Mental Health

Drawing these topics together will be SAHELI’s focus on collaborative leadership development, communications skills, cross sector networking and the application of human rights frameworks that are critical when considering cross sector approaches to emerging threats. This years SAHELI will also include a special focus on the bilateral partnership and networking with colleagues representing relevant agencies from the US.

SAHELI is a world-class learning and professional development experience for emerging and senior leadership across agencies operating within the Australian security, health and civil society space. This year’s live in four-day course held at the AIPM will provide the opportunity for participants to examine emerging threats at the intersection of security and health, and to explore their potential role in the management of complexity across key sectors.

SAHELI 2018 will provide a platform for enhanced understandings and expanded dialogue between senior leadership and policymakers across Australia and the US, as well as provide impetus for collaboration and information sharing. SAHELI draws on high-level and engaging speakers committed to both the theoretical and practical application of partnership building across the security and health sectors.

Who should attend?

Emerging and senior leaders across Australian security, health and civil society agencies.
