Sharing terrorism intelligence: insights from UK law enforcement agencies

There were several ways in which UK agencies were observed to overcome potential information barriers that could be adopted by NSW agencies involved in the Terrorism High Risk Offenders scheme. These include changes to how meetings between stakeholders are held, developing stronger partnerships through co-location of agencies, emphasising the importance of collaboration through stronger messaging, and establishing a dedicated mental health unit for terrorism related offenders. These observations are also applicable to law enforcement agencies and intelligence bodies in other countries involved in developing counter terrorism strategies.
