  • Cross-sectional survey data (N = 8,729) were analyzed using logistic regression.
  • High intrinsic effort with low reward was associated with poor health.
  • Officers with high overcommitment exhibited reduced odds for suboptimal outcomes.
  • Results were largely comparable across genders and age groups.
