Warwick Jones, Executive Director

Warwick Jones

Warwick was appointed Executive Director of the AIPM in 2012. Since assuming this role he has led the implementation of a new business model for the AIPM and the development and delivery of the Australia and New Zealand Police Leadership Strategy. He is involved in a range of activities and committees that foster the development of police leaders such as the ANZPAA Professionalisation Forum, the Interpol Advisory Group for Police Training and the Leadership in Counter Terrorism Board of Governors.

Amanda McCormick, Deputy Director

In January 2013, with over 20 years experience as an Australian Federal Police officer, Amanda was successful in obtaining a 2 year secondment as a Visiting Fellow at the AIPM, Manly. In 2015, Amanda joined the AIPM permanent staff in the role of Director, Business and Event Services and in 2017 took on the role of Deputy Director.

Dr Victoria Herrington, Director Knowledge

Heading up the AIPM’s Knowledge Team, Victoria is responsible for maintaining and developing the AIPM’s knowledge base, its academic architecture, suite of knowledge activities, learner and learning experience, and overall teaching quality. Victoria is an academic, a criminologist, by training and holds a Bachelor degree (Hons) in Psychology, a Masters degree in Criminal Justice Studies, both from the University of Portsmouth, as well as a PhD in Laws from King’s College London. 

Rod Smith, Director Operations

Rod Smith

Rod joined the New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF) in 1980 and held various roles across Sydney for the next 36 years. During this time, Rod took command of the Executive Support Group, was responsible for the implementation of the Police Integrity Commission and in 2011 was seconded to lead the Workforce Improvement Program. Rod has completed a number of tertiary qualifications and in 2016 was seconded to AIPM as a Visiting Fellow and moved into the role of Director, Operations in 2018.

Andy Singh, Director Frontier Knowledge

Andy Singh

Andy came to the AIPM in 2005 after 15 years with the Australian Federal Police across the drugs, intelligence, and international portfolios. As the first AFP visiting fellow to the AIPM, Andy set about building a number of programs designed to support the AFP and its jurisdictional partners meet the challenges of counter-terrorism. Andy has held a number of positions within AIPM and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts (Arab and Islamic Studies).

Andy Combes, Director Leadership Development

Andy Combes

Andy’s career has spanned domestic and international appointments across command and senior management in the national security environment, including the Australian Defence Force, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Australian Public Service Commission. Andy holds a Masters of Leadership and Management and has completed the Art and Practice of Leadership Program at the JFK School of Government at Harvard University. In 2016 Andy began working with the AIPM.
